JOB SUMMARY     

 

Analyzes and manages
customer accounts to promote business growth consistent with the ILS business
objectives.
He/she
is expected to use industry insight to design, develop and resource low cost
carrier solutions that meet our' business needs
and coordinates
shipments through TMS, and communicates shipment status to customers.
Provides accurate quotes, negotiates cost/sales,
analyze customer requests, determine
competitive pricing, providing quotes, and coordinating relationship with
carriers and customers while specializing in the produce sector.
May report to Carrier Development Manager in U.S. or Sales
Manager in Mexico.
 

 

      

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES     

 

Analyzes profitability of the assigned accounts, monitoring customer
shipping trends and patterns, and identifying additional revenue sources and
opportunities.
 

 

Develops and implements transportation service sales strategies in
assigned territory, finding, selecting, and targeting prospects (Customers
and Carriers) for new business.
 

 

Identifies factors that influence customer decisions and develops
creative strategies to close sales and promote new business.
 

 

Develops plans to increase revenues by meeting sales goals, customer
needs, and company’s profit objectives.
 

 

Responds to customers inquiries and resolves customer problems and
requests through collaboration with local management team.
 

 

Contacts current or former customers and potential prospects to
promote new business and advance to proposal and close the deal.
  

 

Provides feedback and recommendations to improve profitability and
efficiencies of the current customers. Delivers feedback to managers and
evaluates operations’ performance.
 

 

Provides training and educates team on customer status, key customer
needs, requirements, and service impact.
Maintains rapport with operations on customer education, status, and
opportunities.
 

 

Maintains database of prospects and current customers within the
assigned territory, recording competitive pricing, volumes, service
offerings, contacts, and proposal deliveries and acceptance.
 

 

Provides quotes and coordinates shipments in a manner that meets
customer’s needs. Negotiates with selected carriers to assist in closing
potential sales and business deals.
 

 

Identify
new carriers to add to the core carrier base or to migrate from non-strategic
to strategic roles.
 

 

Develop
subject matter expertise in TL transportation through external research,
benchmarking and analyzing cost drivers. Provide market intelligence and
price trends. Gather a deep understanding where our risks and opportunities
exist.
 

 

  

 

Performs other relevant duties as assigned.     

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Education,
experience, certification)
     

 
     
  • Associates degree or one to two years related
    experience and/or training.
  •  
  • Five (5) years produce
    experience
  •  
  • Three (3) years of experience in logistics, transportation, or closely
    related field,
    or equivalent combination of education and experience in a produce
    environment.
  •  
  • Extensive background in
    TL and LTL procurement, pricing, carrier compliance and management of
    carriers.
       
  •  
  • Extensive experience with
    rate negotiations, carrier contracting, and transportation.
     
  •  
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
    programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Gsuite, etc.).
      
  •  
  • For position based in
    Mexico, 100 % bi-lingual, English-Spanish is required.
  •  
  • For position based in
    U.S., 100% bi-lingual, English-Spanish is required.

    to and from Mexico.

    of supply chain activities in both the United States and Mexico.

    able to communicate professionally, clearly and concisely, orally and in
    writing, in both English and Spanish.

  • Must be comfortable speaking to new people
    and making presentations to colleagues and senior management.

  • Strong organizational skills with ability to
    delegate and multi-task.

WORKING CONDITIONS     

 

Must be willing to work
independently, after hours and weekends.
 

 

Travel of up to 25 % is
